Toronto noisemakers team up with Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard once again in brand new music video for “Sleep In The Heat”.
It’s a tale as old as time: boys meet, boy accidentally shoot cop, boys group together to dispose of body, boys form one of the most raucous garage-punk bands around. Such was the premise for PUP’s infamous “Guilt Trip” music video, starring (among others) Stranger Things actor Wolfhard in one of his first roles.
Now, the story continues. Set three years on from the incidents of “Guilt Trip”, “Sleep In The Heat” sees the child actors resume their roles as a young PUP. Traveling town to town performing dive show after dive show, they befriend a dog along the way who follows them on their adventure, but it isn’t long before life on the road starts to take its toll.
Written in memory of frontman Stefan Babcock’s chameleon Norman (who featured in the video for “Mabu“) the “Sleep In The Heat” video is appropriately heart-wrenching. Keep tissues at the ready, ’cause this is one emotional ride.
Speaking to Vulture of working with the band and cast, Wolfhard proclaimed he has “hope we can do more stuff together.” He also discussed a passion for his own creativity, stating that “as of now, I really want to record something and play live, get something out like an EP. I really see some sort of future in music because I love it so much.”
